Antique pear shaped diamond and Russian emerald ring set in Gilded Lane original design

I am naming this pretty lady Queen Bea. This ring is newly made and designed by me. I wanted to try a new take on the toi et moi, and of course stay true to my constant mantra of “I love color.“ This is my first time making a custom piece with calibrated emeralds, and let me tell you, a lot of man hours go into this sort of work. I wanted to make sure that the emeralds perfectly matched the central emerald because that was important to me, so this has been a labor of love.

Made in platinum and 18 carat yellow gold, The egg shaped antique pear is GIA certified 2.06 FSI1 and has absolutely perfect faceting (full disclosure I’ve lost the cert on this one but I have a picture of it in the post). This is a little dream with the rounded tip. I love that the bezel plays up the shape of the diamond. The emerald is GIA certified Russian F1. This was the first time I had heard of a Russian emerald, and that’s because they’re extremely rare. They were discovered in the Ural mountains in the mid 1800s, and have been mostly mined out. it’s incredibly rare to come across a gem quality Russian emerald, especially one of this size, 2.66 carats, and of this beautiful color and clarity. What I love the most about it is it looks like it has a little open culet at the bottom. There is an additional .82 carat total weight of old European cut melee and the custom emeralds total 2.44 CTW. The entire ring measures 29 x 21.3, it weighs 10.36 g, it is a size 6 1/2, sizable
