“Royal Blue” GIA certified natural sapphire and old European cut diamond halo Gilded Lane Design

There’s a description that GIA gives to sapphires very rarely and when you see that description on a certificate, you get a little excited because you know that not only are you physically seeing the most beautiful sapphire you’ve ever laid eyes on but GIA wholeheartedly agrees with you. That description is “royal blue” and the sapphire in this ring has that description. I’m sure it’s not a surprise to you by looking at it though. I’ll admit I’m not really a sapphire gal, but this color has me in its clutches.  Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, let me tell you about this setting. I’m very proud of it. I was inspired one day. I’ve had a lot of halos for sale, and I was sitting here  wondering how I could make a halo with a little bit more pizzazz. So I brought out some sharpies and I drew my idea. Let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty. But I wanted to have teeny tiny natural sapphires placed in between the gaps of the old European cut diamond halo. I didn’t think there was any way the good folks at @DavidKlassJewelry could pull it off, but they have surpassed my expectations. Don’t ask me how, it’s some sort of magic, but in my opinion it’s the most perfect halo ring I have ever had.

Made in 18 karat yellow gold, the center sapphire is 4.15 carats Madagascar heated. GIA has called it royal blue, and we can see why. It is surrounded by 1.4 CTW of old European cut diamonds that are approximately LM color and VS clarity. There is an additional .15 carats of beautiful little natural sapphire sprinkled in. The entire ring measures 16.5 x 14.6, it sits 8 mm off the finger, it weighs 7.95 g, it is a size 6
