3.57 ct old European cut diamond in true antique setting

This is one of my favorite antique rings that I’ve had for some time. The setting is so unique, with its asymmetric style and use of old mine cut diamonds as opposed to old European cut diamonds really sets it apart. It’s even more beautiful in person. I love my camera on my new iPhone, but it still hasn’t quite captured the nuances of antique jewelry as much as the eye does. The center diamond is my favorite cut of old European cut, and it looks like GIA agrees because they’re usually quite the sticklers about giving an old European brilliant designation and this diamond got it. 3.57 carats N/VS1, and has that juicy hand cut look that is truly unique to an actual antique stone.
